World No. 42 Wang Xinyu beat No. 5 Jessica Pegula in the second round of Wimbledon - 6:4, 6:7(7), 6:1.

For the Chinese woman, this is the first victory over a top-10 opponent in her career (with six defeats). This is also her first victory over the top 30 at a Grand Slam tournament.

Wang reached the third round of the TBS for the fourth time. At Wimbledon she succeeded for the first time.

Pegula never made it past the second round at the TBS this year. In Australia, she dropped out at the same stage and missed Roland Garros.

Now Van will compete with Katie Bolter or Harriet Dart.
