Green Bay opted for Matt LaFleur for a new team coach. The appointment of the 39-year-old Tennessee Attack Coordinator raises many questions. In the attack, the Titans finished 27th out of 32 NFL teams and missed the playoffs after losing at home last week of the season to Indianapolis. LaFleur succeeds Mike McCarthy, who was fired on December 2 after 13 years leading the team.
The terms of the contract, its length and the annual salary of the new coach are still under contract. But his appointment seems certain after Green Bay announced to the other candidates that they would not receive an offer.
LaFleur played at Western Michigan University, but ended his college career at Saginaw State, where his first coaching position was;assistant co-ordinator of the 2003 assault. He entered the NFL in 2008 as an attack performance analyst in Houston. From 2010 to 2013, he coached the quarterbacks in Washington. After the dismissal of his father and son, Shanahan went to Notre Dame for a year. In 2015-2016, he coached the Atlanta quarterbacks and spent the last two seasons as the offensive coordinator in LA Rems and Tennessee.
LaFleur is considered the protege of current San Francisco coach Kyle Shanahan, who appointed him as an assistant in three different teams. The US media see him as attracting Green Bay as a sign of ending the management war.
