Haggerty a head of the ITF

The American David Haggerty was elected for a president of the International Tennis Federation ITF for the period 2015-2019, at the annual meeting in the Chilean capital Santiago.

Haggerty won in the second round of voting with 200 votes against 192 for Indian Anil Khanna. Rene Stammbach (Switzerland) and Juan Margets (Spain) were eliminated in the first round. The former president Francesco Ricci Bitti was appointed for a honorary life president of the organization.

The 58 years old Haggerty has held various positions in the Tennis Association of the United States (USTA) from 2001 and on-wards. He has been a president and CEO in the period of 2013-2014 year. The American is at ITF from 2009 and until yesterday he has been a vice president of the Board of Directors.

David Haggerty is a board member of the International Hall of Fame at the tennis. He has a 30-years career in the industry for a production of tennis rackets. He was a president of the companies Head USA, Penn Racquet Sports and Dunlop Maxfli Slazenger Sports.
