Simona Halep broke Evgeniya Rodina at the start

The third placed of Grand slam "Roland Garros" Simona Halep began with a win her participation in Paris this year.

The finalist of 2014 won against the Russian Evgeniya Rodina with 7:5, 6:4 in the central court "Philippe Chatrier".

The Romanian didn`t show a lot of her capacity. She began racing game and led with 4:1 with two breaks. Rodina, which is 91st in the world rankings, began to play strongly and managed to level at 5:5.

There was, however, a new breakthrough from the 23-years old from Constanta, after which she was able to take her submission to close the set.

Simona began with a break also the second set but the Russian was able to return it. There was another break for the Romanian and at 5:4 she served for a place in the second set. The Girls` champion of `Roland Garros` reached to a match point and realized it with her second ace.

In the second round Halep is expecting the veteran Mirjana Lucic-Baroni (Croatia), which removed with 6:3, 3:6, 6:3 Lauren Davis (United States).

With success started also the ninth seeded Ekaterina Makarova in Paris. The Russian left-handed dealed with the American Louisa Chirico with 6:4, 6:2. The next opponent of Makarova will be the Brazilian Teliana Pereira.
